0-3 months
Apart from the Nappies, burp cloths and blankets, Here’s a list of products for the baby’s first three months that I found useful:
- Sleep pod: I found a sleep pod super useful during the baby’s first months. There are options, from Sleepyhead to Dockatot that are more on the pricey range, to Clevamama and Purflo that are less expensive. Sleepyhead and Dockatot come with a small and large size option if you want to use it for a longer period. Purflo PurAir Breathable Nest for Newborns is what I purchased and I am happy with it. - Muslin Swaddle wraps: The muslin material is soft and comfortable for everyday use. Once the baby is out of the swaddle phase, you can use it on a stroller, or as a nursing scarf, or even as a baby bath towel. I purchased the Aden + Anais Large Classic Swaddles. You can find them on FirstCry. Here’s a link for reference https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B0849JTZ28/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_NP6ZAWVMQAFW2BQKX75N
- Sleep suits: with sleep suits it’s best to get the ones that have zippers, easier when it comes to diaper change. I couldn’t find many online with zippers in newborn size so I had to make do with the buttoned ones. You can now find them on FirstCry, Carter’s or Next website. https://images.app.goo.gl/pULPve45r8zMQFxW8
- Frida baby: Frida baby products are super handy. There is the NoseFrida which is a nasal aspirator and Medifrida for feeding baby medicine through a pacifier. You can find the entire range of Frida baby products on Amazon.ae https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B07BYLG8R8/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_F6VXK171ECE0E83MCF35
- Baby care set: it has all the things you need for baby grooming and super handy for travel purposes. These come with hair and nail care, a thermometer, a nasal aspirator. But I have to say, the only part I use is the hair and nail care products. www.amazon.ae/dp/B00IEV9ZFI/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_C5XJGCN5W44306R82E5B
- Bassinet / Crib: depending on your need you can decide whether a crib works for you or a baby bassinet. I personally got a crib from IKEA and I place the sleep pod in it to keep the baby all snug. There are good options in bassinets too like the Chicco Next2Me crib or the Zip & Go cart, useful for those that plan to travel. There are less expensive options if you browse through Firstcry but I am not sure how sturdy those are. Always best to check their reviews on YouTube!
- A good digital thermometer: I would recommend an Ear thermometer rather than the forehead Infrared Thermometer. Braun is highly recommended! https://www.binsina.ae/en/Braun-Thermoscan-Age-Precision-Ear-Thermometer/p/54338?gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL1mhrkz–oPoZGNZDeumbqz3ICck0fpllNIo1w4OLxVQjMYfYb1E6AaArf6EALw_wcB
- Baby swing: don’t go for any fancy ones, even the most basic swing by a well-known baby brand does the job, I bought one from Babyshop but you can find similar ones on FirstCry or Amazon. Here is a link for reference, https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B07QVLTZ6N/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_1D6N9PH2B56ZH5J096J8
- Bottle Sterilizer: I got a great deal on the Electric sterilizer by Tommee Tippee, recommended by a mum-friend! Here’s the link to it https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B07W8DNRYM/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_i_CZ3XT0WCGHF1FNSTF2G3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
